After an incredibly successful 2022 raising over $100,000 for Movember Foundation Australia, 2023 is shaping up to be even bigger.

In June, we celebrated International Men’s Health Week (June 14-20), with the theme of forming ‘Healthy Habits’ – checking on your mates, connecting, having conversations, and getting that yearly check up.

On Friday, July 28, we’re hosting our annual Charity Golf Day at Gailes Golf Club, commencing at 10am.

Tickets include a round of golf with an electric cart, food offered upon arrival and completion of the course, plus a Four Ball Ambrose event with special prize holes and raffles. $440 for a team of four.

Over 20 teams are booked in – so it’s already looking like a great day!

To book, contact: springfieldmomen@gmail.com.au.

We are also hard at work on another Father’s Day event in September – partnering again with Orion Springfield Central – that will rival last year’s successful inaugural ‘Cars & Chill’. It’s great to have Orion back on board for another show along Main Street.

We’re also planning our Launch for Movember, Infamous Pie-Eating Competition, and of course signature Gala Night Celebration on November 25. Stay tuned.

And Luke Hinschen is on track for his massive ‘Luke’s Long Walk’ from Grafton to Brisbane, in September. Check out Luke’s Facebook page for more.

Who we are

The Movember Foundation is a charity that supports research into combatting testicular and prostate cancer, and promotes awareness about mental health and wellbeing and suicide prevention.

Springfield Mo-Men is the local Movember chapter. We began around 10 years ago when Mark Winter and Paul Kirwan signed up for Movember 2012. At first, the Mo-Men held fundraisers annually in November by growing moustaches, but with help from third member Matt Eggins, community engagement and support quickly grew to what it is today.

Our regular Mo-Men activities include:

The Man Walk, a 5 km morning walk held twice a week – on Thursdays at 6am around Orion Lagoon, and on Saturdays at 6:30am, meeting up at The Coffee Club at Orion.

Steak N Mates, our monthly Friday dinner in support of Springfield’s local pubs, and;

We also promote local trustworthy counsellors who will offer a first session free if you mention our group.
