The Men’s Shed movement has been growing steadily around the world, providing a unique space for men to gather, share skills and support each other.
Springfield Camira Men’s Shed is one such group, and it offers numerous benefits to its members.
Recently, our Men’s Shed received a much-needed and beneficial financial boost. RACQ Springfield, through their Local Giving Program, kindly donated $500.
This was used to purchase a laptop to replace our computer that was damaged in the January floods.
Springfield Camira Men’s Shed provides a welcoming environment for men of all ages and backgrounds to come together.
It’s a place where friendships are formed, stories are shared and laughter is a common sound. Such social interaction can significantly improve members’ mental health and overall well-being.
Here at our Men’s Shed, mental health support is provided in an informal, non-judgemental space where men can freely discuss their thoughts and feelings.
This supportive environment offers a lifeline for anyone dealing with mental health issues such as loneliness, depression and anxiety.
Skill development and sharing are important to our members. Many of them choose to focus on practical skills which include woodworking, various other crafts, fund-raising or administrative tasks.
Men can either learn new skills or share their expertise with others. This exchange of knowledge not only boosts self-confidence but also promotes a sense of
accomplishment.
