Springfield Lakes State School has opened its doors to a new Community Hub, marking a significant step forward in fostering social cohesion and providing support to culturally diverse families in the region.
The hub, a part of the National Community Hubs Program (NCHP) operated by Community Hubs Australia, is designed to connect families, particularly mothers with young children, to essential services, educational opportunities, and the broader community.
The National Community Hubs Program is a grassroots initiative aimed at bridging the gap between families and the wider community.
By embedding hubs in primary schools, the program offers a welcoming environment where families from diverse backgrounds can connect, share, and learn.
Jordan MP Charis Mullen expressed her excitement about the new hub in the Jordan electorate.
“I have always been a massive champion of Community Hubs Australia, who have operated in the Ipswich and Logan areas for many years,” she said.
“They are welcoming places where families from diverse backgrounds can be connected with each other, their school, and local services and supports.”
The hub will play a crucial role in helping migrant families function well, providing them with the capacity, confidence, and skills needed to nurture child learning and become active participants in the community and workforce.
