I was delighted to join both the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese and the Treasurer, Jim Chalmers, as we toured the Rheinmetall Centre of Excellence in Redbank.
Rheinmetall produce critical supplies for the Australian Defence Force. The Prime Minister was in our local area to announce a new deal that is worth $1 billion. The deal will see over 100 hi-tech armoured vehicles produced right here in Redbank.
This deal will also produce over 600 full time jobs in the defence sector for highly skilled locals.
It’s wonderful to see industry expanding in our area. It means more well-paid jobs for locals. I’m proud to see the future of manufacturing and Made in Australia is being led from our industrial area.
