Meet the Incumbent – Labor State Member for Jordan, Charis Mullen

Guy Hazlewood    October 8, 2024    1 min read

As an elected Member, I have always listened, worked hard and prioritised what matters to my community.

I also have a strong record of delivering a significant number of projects and services for Jordan.

This includes the upgrade to the Centenary Motorway / Logan Motorway Interchange, delivering a new Park n Ride at Springfield Central and securing a Public Hospital for Greater Springfield.

I recently announced that in partnership with Mater, the Hospital will now include a 12-bed paediatric inpatient unit – providing local care for our local kids.

The Miles Labor Government is responding to cost of living pressures with a range of measures, including making 50c fares permanent – a massive saving for local commuters in Jordan.

We have also announced new and expanded bus services for Augustine Heights, Springfield and Spring Mountain.

If re-elected, I have already committed to:

  • A plan for more Centenary Motorway upgrades – prioritising the section between
    Exit 31 and 33 (Springfield) and Centenary Cycleway
  • $440,000 for a dedicated Youth Space in Springfield – a safe space for young
    people in our community to be engaged in positive ways and find support;
  • $6 million contribution for the Brisbane Lions Community Hub – to ensure we
    have more sporting and community facilities for our growing community.
