Detectives in Ipswich have charged a 26-year-old man in connection with the break and enter of four tobacconist shops in the Ipswich area.

According to police, the incidents occurred on June 26 between 3am and 5am.

A group of offenders, travelling in a stolen blue Haval SUV, allegedly forced entry into tobacconist shops located in Springfield, Collingwood Park, North Ipswich and Chuwar.

At three of these businesses, the suspects stole cigarettes and tobacco products, while the fourth business was spared as the offenders were unable to access any cigarettes.

Following a thorough investigation by the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch, detectives apprehended a 26-year-old man from Logan at an address in Edens Landing on July 5.

The man has been charged with four counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence, one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count of obstructing police.

He has been refused police bail and is scheduled to appear at Roma Street Magistrates Court on July 6.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to search for other individuals involved in these offences.

Police have appealed to the public for any information that might assist in the case.
