Ipswich City Council is inviting local artists to contribute to the branding of next year’s SPARK Ipswich festival, a premier arts and culture event that celebrates the region’s vibrant cultural scene.

Expressions of interest are now open, offering artists a unique opportunity to help define the visual identity of SPARK Ipswich 2025.

Councillor Pye Augustine, Chair of the Economic and Cultural Development Committee, expressed excitement for the chance to showcase Ipswich’s creative talents.

“SPARK Ipswich is our city’s premier arts and culture festival, showcasing the region’s exciting cultural scene and rich diversity,” Cr Augustine said.

“Council is inviting artists to contribute an original illustrative concept that could be used as a key branding design for SPARK Ipswich 2025.”

Artists who wish to participate are encouraged to capture the spirit of the festival’s fifth year, interpreting what SPARK Ipswich means to them and the Ipswich community.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for artists to make their mark and have their work seen by thousands across Ipswich and beyond leading into and during the festival,” Cr Augustine said.

The council is looking for submissions that demonstrate originality, creativity, and a strong connection to Ipswich.

The winning artist’s design will serve as the face of SPARK Ipswich 2025, helping to foster a sense of community through their unique vision.

In addition to the exposure, the successful artist will receive a commission fee of up to $2,000.

SPARK Ipswich 2025 is set to run for 10 days in July, featuring a lineup of local talent, arts, and cultural events across Ipswich.

Artists interested in applying are asked to submit previous work samples and a concept proposal by 8am on Monday, November 25, 2024.

For more information on submission requirements and to apply, visit the ‘Get Involved’ tab on the Ipswich Festivals website.
