Ipswich continues to shine as a top tourist destination, with the 2024 Best of Queensland Experiences results recognising the city’s exceptional offerings.
A total of 47 members from the Ipswich Tourism Operator Network (ITON) have been awarded for their consistent delivery of outstanding experiences this year.
Councillor Pye Augustine, Chairperson of the Ipswich City Council Economic and Cultural Development Committee, expressed her pride in the local tourism operators’ dedication and hard work.
“It’s hardworking operators like those recognized in Best of Queensland that make Ipswich the tourism destination that it is today, bringing in $300 million of revenue and over one million visitors each year,” Cr Augustine said.
“From award-winning stays at Spicers Hidden Vale to delectable dinners at The Cottage Restaurant, family-friendly fun at the Ipswich Nature Centre, and adventure experiences like Valhalla Paintball, there’s plenty of amazing experiences in Ipswich waiting to be explored.”
One standout success story is Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights, which was one of only eight businesses in Queensland to achieve a perfect score of 100 out of 100 points in the Best of Queensland Experiences Program.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that the business, run by Graeme and Ruth Day, has achieved this remarkable feat.
“As a small family aviation business offering personal and boutique balloon flights, we are very proud to have achieved this recognition of the state’s tourism program once again,” Graeme said.
Other notable achievers include Monte Lane, The Llama Farm, and Valhalla Paintball, all of which received perfect ReviewPro GRI scores of 100.
These scores are based on customer review data collected from over 140 online travel agencies and review sites.
The six Greater Springfield venues recognised in the Best of Queensland Experiences for 2024 are:
