Residents are invited to come hunting for a bargain at the ‘Trash 2 Treasure’ morning market at the Camira Springfield Community Centre on Saturday, June 24.

The flea-market-style event allows for members of the community to sell their pre-loved items in good condition that might be “trash” to you, but could be someone else’s newest “treasure”.

It is being hosted by events organising company My Previous Events and its owner Rachel Waddington, with proceeds going to Westside Community Care.

“I have always had a passion for helping others to bring their event vision to life,” Rachel said.

“And if the event can also help a local charity then it is a win-win situation for everyone.”

‘Trash 2 Treasure’ kicks off at 7am next Saturday, at the Camira Springfield Community Centre at 389 Old Logan Road, Camira.

Indoor three-metre square spaces are available for $25 (through Eventbrite), or outside. All outdoors stall holders must bring their own marquee (no pegs) and be prepared for inclement weather should that occur.

“Our friends from Ipswich Plant Swap will be there to share in the joy of plants and to give live demonstrations on recycling pallets,” Rachel added.

All morning, food vans will be right outside vending coffee and breakfast items.

Westside Community Care is the charitable arm of local church Springfield Christian Family, and runs most of its activities out of the community centre.

“From antiques to modern goodies, this ‘Trash 2 Treasure’ morning will have it all.”

‘Trash or Treasure’ runs Saturday June 24 from 7am to 11am at Camira Springfield Community Centre – 389 Old Logan Road Camira.

For tickets, search “Trash 2 Treasure” on Eventbrite or scan the QR code on this page.

Stallholders have from 5:30am to 11:30am to bump in and bump out. Further conditions apply.
