Last night, the Springfield Mo-Men hosted our big annual gala fundraiser evening: the Movember Gala Casino Night 2023.

After an incredibly successful 2022 where the Mo-Men raised over $100,000 for the Movember Foundation Australia, we hope our big gala night for 2023 can bring us close to if not top last year’s total.

More than that, we hope support from the community will help us raise awareness for men’s health in our great community.

The evening of fundraising kicked off at 6pm on Saturday, November 25, at Springlake Hotel.

Tickets were $150, including a three-hour drink package of beer, wine, and soft drinks, plus canapés, as well as a $100 voucher of fun money per person.

Kicking off Movember 2023

On October 11, we officially launched the Movember 2023 campaign, with the slogan: “The Mo is Calling”.

For 20 years, the Movember organisation has changed the face of men’s health and we are so proud to be part of the family.

Every dollar raised goes to support research into testicular and prostate cancer and to assist with programs to help with mental health and wellbeing, and suicide prevention.

So ‘Grow a Mo’ and start the conversation – or donate to our team and let’s make a difference.

Encourage the men in your lives to talk, and most of all get vital health checks.

Who we are

Springfield Mo-Men is the local Movember chapter. We began around 10 years ago when Mark Winter and Paul Kirwan signed up for Movember 2012. At first, the Mo-Men held fundraisers annually in November by growing moustaches, but with help from third member Matt Eggins, community engagement and support quickly grew to what it is today.

Our regular Mo-Men activities include:

The Man Walk, a 5 km morning walk held twice a week – on Thursdays at 6am around Orion Lagoon, and on Saturdays at 6:30am, meeting up at The Coffee Club at Orion.

Steak N Mates, our monthly Friday dinner in support of Springfield’s local pubs, and;

We also promote local trustworthy counsellors who will offer a first session free if you mention our group.
