The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) is set to host its 2024 Open Days, welcoming thousands of prospective students and their families to its campuses in Springfield, Toowoomba, and Ipswich.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie expressed her enthusiasm about the upcoming events, highlighting the chance to showcase UniSQ’s beautiful campuses, vibrant student life, and academic excellence.

“Registrations for our 2024 Open Days are up almost 50 per cent compared to last year – a clear sign of the enduring value of a tertiary education,” Professor Mackenzie said.

“The long-term benefits of a university education cannot be understated. A degree provides opportunities to immerse yourself in your area of passion, significantly enhance your job prospects, and improve your future earning potential.”

UniSQ graduates, in particular, enjoy notable success.

“Bachelor degree graduates from the University of Southern Queensland earn the highest starting pay packet in the country, with a median starting salary of $80,000 and an overall employment rate above 85 per cent,” Professor Mackenzie said.

The Open Days are designed for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, offering a chance to explore the diverse opportunities at UniSQ.

The events will feature a variety of activities, including course information sessions, practical demonstrations, and interactive experiences. Highlights include a VO2 test demonstration, a live flight simulator, and the opportunity to build and launch a water-powered rocket.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, attendees can enjoy a range of food vendors, entertainment, face painting, and a native wildlife display.

The 2024 UniSQ Open Days are scheduled as follows:

  • Springfield: 11 August, 10am – 2pm
  • Ipswich: 11 August, 10am – 2pm
  • Toowoomba: 18 August, 10am – 2pm
