Amidst the challenges posed by ongoing financial uncertainties, local businesses in the Jordan electorate are receiving the recognition they rightfully deserve.
State Member for Jordan, Charis Mullen, has taken note of the relentless efforts of these enterprises and has initiated a unique endeavour to show her support.
“Local businesses are the lifeblood of our community, and their dedication to delivering exceptional services even in trying times hasn’t gone unnoticed,” she said.
“Whether it’s a weekend shopping trip with my family or grabbing a quick bite to eat, I’ve witnessed firsthand the hard work and commitment of our local businesses.”
In a bid to spotlight and celebrate these endeavours, Charis has launched the Jordan Local Business Awards, aimed at showcasing the best that the local business community has to offer.
Customers are invited to nominate their favourite businesses, with the most nominated establishments progressing to a final round of voting to determine the ultimate winners.
Recognising the diverse nature of businesses in the region, Charis has introduced 10 categories, ensuring that enterprises specialising in various sectors have the opportunity to shine.
The enthusiasm for these awards is palpable among local business owners and Tracy Bold of BeBold Properties expressed her excitement.
“I’m thrilled to see Charis championing hardworking local businesses,” she said.
“It’s a refreshing initiative that will inject renewed vigour into the local business community.”
Che Fell, co-owner of Café Kalina located in Springfield, was eagerly anticipating the commencement of the awards.
“I can’t wait for this to start and hopefully, it will infuse the business community with renewed energy,” he said.
“It’s gratifying to see locally run initiatives like this taking shape.”
Coinciding with Queensland Small Business Month, the Jordan Local Business Awards serve as a fitting tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit prevalent in the Ipswich and Logan regions within the Jordan Electorate.
“I’m excited to witness our community rallying behind their favourite local businesses,” said Charis.
“These awards present a wonderful opportunity to honour the hard work and dedication of businesses that go above and beyond for their customers. It’s time they receive the acknowledgment they truly deserve.”
